Here’s an experiment you can try at home!
Step 1:
- Try explaining how to fly with the cape in Super Mario World to someone who’s not into video games.

Step 2:
- Sit back and watch their faces contort into puzzlement and frustration.

Ever since I got Marvel v Capcom 2, I’ve been noticing a trend in videogame instructions nowadays.  When I want to see Cable’s moves, I click on “Moves List.”  What I’m imagining in my mind is a list of moves and the corresponding buttons and joystick directions I need to press on my own controller.  Instead, I get things like “QCF,” “HCB,” and “Dragon Punch.”
I don’t know how long I stared at my 360 controller looking for the “Dragon Punch” button.  That would make Rock Band waaay more awesome.
